U S A!!!!! All The Way!

The United States of America will be playing in the Gold medal game of the 2010 Olympics! The American team dominated Finland and the game was over in the first quarter. After 1 it was 6-0... Finlands goalie pulled himself out after 4 goals disgusted with himself. Now USA waits for the winner of the Canada/Slovakia game. USA has already beat Canada 5-3 in the preliminary rounds and I'm sure the Canadians are looking for revenge. None of the "experts" had this at the beginning of the Olympics. Everyone had Canada vs. Russia for the gold medal game without USA even mentioned there. Me, being the patriot I am, thought very naivly that USA could get to the gold medal game and win it... yes I called it! I bleed red, white and blue! I love the American team. They're scrappy, tough and don't take crap from anyone! When they win the gold on sunday I will be very excited and happy! This Olympics has been dominated by the greatest country on the world... USA!!!!!!

News Story-Print

National recruit signing day is the day that dreams young men have had their entire lives come true. All the recruits from Utah County all came together at 6 a.m. to sign their letter of intent to the school they were choosing to sign with. Pleasant Grove had an all-time high of recruits. 7. All of them division 1 schools. Joey Owens was the 2nd best recruit from Pleasant Grove. I sat down and had a little interview with him about this such thing. C(Chaz) J(Joey Owens)

Chaz: Thanks for your help.
Joey: Anytime for my good friend.
C: So Joey what schools offered you a scholarship?
J: BYU and Stanford

C: Why did you choose BYU over the other schools that offered you a scholarship?
J: The biggest reason for me was being close to home, I want my family to be able to watch me play.

C: What position did BYU offer you a scholorship to play?
J: They offered me to play outside linebacker

C: How do you feel you'll help BYU on the field?
J: I will help because i'm versatile and can go anywhere they need me to go. I have a presence of where i'm at on the field and where the play is heading.

C:What are your expectations for playing time in the first year?
J: I don't expect to play at all the first year, due to injury. If I wasn't injured there's a chance I could play a few games. But with the injuries i'm pretty sure I won't be playing at all this year.

C:What are your expectations winning wise this year for the school?
J:
My expectations for the school this year might seem a little out there, but I expect them to win every game, there's not a team that can't be beaten on any given day, and I think we can stay on the winning side.

C: How excited are you to play in the holy war rivalary?
J:The holy war is crazy, I'm stoked to play in it. Going out and playing in cougar blue against the ute red really gets me excited. It's one of the things that I am looking foreword to the most.

I also chatted with Joey's Mother. I asked her a couple questions about her son.

C: How proud are you of your son and his choice to go to BYU and stay close to home?
JM: Haha good question. I'm very happy that he choose to stay so close to home so we can go to every game without having to spend a lot of money on travel.

C: Your son was on of the best recruits in Utah, why do you think he is?
JM: My son works very hard on the field, during practice, he hits the gym daily and he also study's very hard at home without me asking him.

C: Last question. Do you think he will make it to the next level?
JM: Of course I do I'm his mother. In all seriousness I think if he works hard and keeps up with his studies I think he can do whatever he puts his mind to.

There you have it. A proud mother and her stud of a son.

Cavs stack their already stacked team..

The Cleveland Cavaliers get Washington Wizards all-star power forward Antwan Jamison for Big Z and a 1st round draft pick. Jamison is one of the best power forwards in the NBA to go along side with Lebron James the greatest player in the NBA that's a scary thing. They will be the favorites to win the championship this year which is great because I love Lebron. The Wizards are just trying to trade away all their big contracts so they can start to rebuild. They might just buyout Big Z's contract and then he'd just sign back with the Cavs...so basically the Cavs traded their first round pick(which would most likely be the 30,31 or 32 pick of the first round, so not that good) for one of the best power forwards.. That's stealing. The Cavs have the best starting 5 in the NBA in my eyes now with an all-star point guard(Mo Williams) a great shooting shooting guard(Anthony Parker) Lebron James the best player in my eyes, Antwan Jamison and the best center to ever play the game(Shaquille O'Neal) that is just a nasty nasty nasty team with a deep bench as well. I hope they can get it done unless they're playing my Utah Jazz..but if they play the Lakers I hope they destroy them and I hope its not a close series. Good no should I say great trade for the Cleveland Cavaliers!

Hall Of Fame

Malone and Pippen are 2 of the 19 finalist's that could be inducted into the NBA Hall of fame! We all knew that pippen and malone would be and will be first ballot hall of famers! Karl Malone is one if not the greatest Power Forwards to play the game of basketball ball! Scotty Pippen is also one of the greatest Small Forwards ever...granted he did play with Michael Jordan who would make me into a hall of famer ( and that's saying something) but he didn't dissappoint he did win 6 rings.. Both of these guys will for sure be in the hall of fame and most likely they'll both be first ballot, if not they will be in the future. They are two of the top 50 players of all time. The were big rivals and I hated Scotty Pippen because he always beat my Utah Jazz and Karl Malone. I'm happy that they will be in there soon. They both deserve it. Malone will join his coach Jerry Sloan, and his teammate/point guard John Stockton. Scotty Pippen will be joining the greatest player ever Michael Jordan and his coach as well Phil Jackson. Congrats to the both of them! I hope they both have their teammates/friends induct them into the HOF!

2011 no NFL...Lockout?

DeMaurice Smith told NFL receiver Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson that the number of the likelyhood of the NFL having a lock out season in 2011 out of 1-10 is a 14. The NFL is thinking that a lock out will happen starting March of 2011 when the current players contract runs out. I hate to fathom the idea of no NFL football season happening after next year. What is going on? There is definitely enough money if some of the players are making 100 million a year. To save the NFL players would have to take a 328,000 dollar pay cut. For some I'm sure that is just chunk change to players like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and so. For the players making the league minimum its almost their whole paycheck and would hurt them bad. If the NFL doesn't happen they'll still make 5 billion dollars from Fox, Cbs and NBC their TV stations. Roger Goodell said you don't make money by closing down your company... well then fix it! Goodell is the worst Commissioner ever! First he took out the fun such as Touchdown celebrations and he is more harsh on funny players such as Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens. The players call it the No Fun League. If this lock out happens I will literally cry. How does the most profitable sport in America think about having a lock out? It just doesn't make any sense to me at all. I wish all these pretty boy players of the NFL can together to make the league continue strong.
