Nomar retires as a part of the nation

Nomar Garciaparra is retiring from the game of baseball as a Red Sox player. Nomar played his first 9 seasons with the Red Sox and was one of the crowds favorite players. He signed a minor league contract today with the Red Sox so that he could retire as a part of the great organization. I love the fact that the Red Sox are loyal to their players. Nomar was one of the greatest Red Sox players both on and off the field. Every time I saw Nomar in any other jersey it made me disgusted because he should've been still putting on the red and white colors of Boston. I love that the fans of the Red Sox(the nation is what they call themselves) are so loyal to one of their greats even when he isn't on their team. I remember one time when he was on the Oakland A's, Nomar came up to bat as an opposing player, and instead of boo's, which you usually hear from the crowd when a former player comes up to bat, the people gave him a standing ovation. It was so cool to witness that loyality and love they had for him. He will be a Hall of famer hopefully and now he gets to go in as a Red Sox! I love this story so much. Go Sox!
